The Capitol Arts Academy is a vision that provides ongoing opportunities for area youth interested in exercising their artistic muscle in the performing discipline they enjoy.

A select few may become performers. Some will continue their musical education throughout their life for sheer enjoyment. Many will develop a life-long passion and appreciation of the performing arts. All will gain valuable experience in decision-making and listening through improvisitation and dialogue. Their poise and confidence will grow as they learn to move and speak to an audience and hone their skills of concentration and commuication as they practice lines of a play, poem, or song while delivering lines or verses with proper tone and appropriate emotion.

The Capitol Arts Academy has begun to grow as the Capitol Theatre Arts Camp completed its third year of operation this summer of 2010, the Capitol Kids Choir adds to its repertoire and the Student Adventure Series offers many students their first glimpse of professional live theatre. With the addition of the Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Academy will become even more diverse and offer more opportunity for area youth in the performing arts.
