Picking a favorite song or CD is like picking a favorite child. I chose these three, because each has a different quality that I was drawn to in that period of my writing.

By Heart is close to my heart because it features my hit, "Angel Eyes," and my signature song "If You Believe."  It also has my very first vocal collaboration, "By Heart."  Because it was only my second CD, I hear a sound that is very fresh and spontaneous.  

Simple Things really holds a vision for a life that’s simple and uncomplicated. Along with the title track, the melodies reflect that philosophy.  It also has "A Mother’s Day," which of course is dedicated to my mom, Sally.

Escape was influenced by the stories I heard from listeners, telling me how my music helped them ‘take a mental breather’ from illness, sadness, stress, and the harsh realities of the world. "Never Alone" and "My Angel" are two songs I hold dear.  It was such an honor working with the late Gerald Levert who recorded "My Angel" just a few months before his tragic death.
